New Year, New You? 

This year, let's do something that actually works.

Want to lose up to 10 lbs. this month and knock your resolutions out the park? I have three words for you:

Low-carb, ketogenic diet.

Fact: Low-carb diets work.

There are countless studies to show that time and time again, people lose up to three times more weight on a low-carb, high fat (ketogenic) diet than they do on low fat or calorie-restricted diets.

In addition to the increased weight loss, people who adopt a ketogenic diet are known to experience:

  • Decreased appetite
  • Better, more sound sleep
  • Improved skin, mood, and brain function
  • Improved cholesterol
  • Reduced blood sugar, insulin, and blood pressure

Also fact: Low-carb diets can be tough to start.

I don't blame you if you have some hesitation. Giving up a bunch of foods you know and love at once? Yikes. That's hard even for someone with the strongest of willpower. Not to mention, the number one reason people quit on a lifestyle change before they reap the benefits is that they try to make too many changes at once. Remember that time you said you were going to work out everyday and eat salads for every meal, starting NOW? Yeah, how did that work out for you?

Or, maybe you've tried low-carb before or known a cranky low-carber who turned you off to the entire experience. Chances are, you (or Mr. Hangry over there) didn't do it the correct way—that is, you didn't add lots of healthy fats into your diet, you substituted higher carb foods with "foods" marketed as low-carb that are filled with artificial sugars or chemicals, or you just plain didn't eat enough food. I can't imagine how awful that could be.

We don't do that over here.

I created this challenge to help people who are hesitant to try a low-carb diet (but are aching to see the kind of results a ketogenic lifestyle can deliver) slowly (but surely!) ease into a lifestyle change. Each week during the challenge, you'll make a change to your diet that will move you closer to a whole food, low-carb, high fat way of eating. In addition, each weekly email will include a recipe that helps you take advantage of the challenge to the fullest.

I'm losing weight and I'm never hungry!

One of the the things I've struggled with most throughout my life is overeating.  Anyone who knows me can tell you that I can "eat like a man" and they know that if I'm coming over to eat, they need to have enough food for seconds or thirds. I've always been one of those people who has to eat something every 3 hours or I get "hangry" lol.  But, amazingly, following the "Ease into Keto" Challenge, I found that by eating foods high in fat, I wasn't having to snack all day, felt satisfied for more than 5 hours after I had last eaten, and sometimes was not even able to finish my meals because I felt full halfway through.  This was something I had NEVER experienced before!

And oh yeah, I lost 15 lbs in one month after switching to a fully ketogenic diet. Just saying.

So who's leading this challenge, anyway?

Hi! I'm Candace, aka The Glow Getter. While studying for my holistic health coach certification from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, I stumbled across la vida low carb and used it to get rid of an extra, oh, FORTY or so lbs I had been carrying around. Two years later, it's still off! These days, I use my nutrition education and my personal experience to spread the gospel of low carb to people who want to get fit with fat and get in the best shape of their lives. People like you!
