We’ve been taught that to lose weight, we need to devote an hour or more in the gym everyday, eat like a newborn baby bird, and basically give up all joy in life in pursuit of that dream body. But what about happy hour? What about traveling? What about Sunday Fundays with your friends and eating delicious food at new restaurants?!

Don’t you want to look good AND do the things you love?

You’re here, so I know you do.

But, let’s talk for a minute. Honesty time.

Just between you and me, raise your hand if any of this relates to you:

  • When you take off your favorite jeans, there’s a button print left on your stomach from where the waistband dug in.
  • You recently ordered a bunch of clothes online and couldn’t wait for them to come in...only to realize that nothing fit.
  • You’re tired of feeling down on yourself because your weight seems to be slipping out of your control, but you don’t know where to start or how to do it.
  • You got your life together that one time and saw some results and people were noticing...but the amount of work required just didn’t work with your lifestyle.
  • You like to have a good time and enjoy the things life has to offer, and you want to look good while you’re doing it (as you should).

You want to be the one who shops in any store for that fly outfit to wear to brunch this weekend.

You want to be the one front and center in the pictures on the beach on that girl’s trip to the Bahamas (or Bali!) instead of hiding strategically in the background so the camera “doesn’t get your gut.”

You want to feel strong and confident that your outward appearance matches your inside, because you know how awesome you are and that’s what you want to project to the world.

But you just don’t know how to make that a reality. You feel stuck.

Hi, I’m Candace!

Five years ago, I was 40 lbs heavier. I couldn’t figure out how I got there—one minute I was in college, buying cute clothes for parties, and the next minute I looked up from my corporate desk job and barely recognized the chubby girl in the mirror.

I knew I had to make some major changes in my life. I started attending school for nutrition and learned about the ketogenic diet, which was a total game changer. I went through a little trial and error adjusting to the keto lifestyle, but once I got it right, the weight that had just been kinda sitting there, refusing to make any major moves, melted off within months. Shortly after, I discovered high intensity interval training (HIIT), which put the results I was getting from keto into overdrive.

I was eating food I loved, none of my workouts took longer than 45 minutes, and I was looking better than I had in years. The best part was, while I was losing massive amounts of weight, all my favorite things—hanging out with my friends and having a few drinks, traveling to new places and experiencing different cultures, plowing through “best restaurants” lists in different cities—were still a major part of my life...as I continued to lose weight. Could it be magic? It sure felt like it.

I started The Glow Getter because I want you to have that same magical feeling—the feeling that you are so happy and confident with your new self that you are literally glowing from within! Since beginning my journey, I’ve learned that dedicating yourself to being healthy not only looks good, but feels good, and feeling good inspires people to get the most out of life, in whatever way that looks to them. And I’m here to help you do it!

Five random things about me:


I quit my high-paying corporate job in 2012 to travel full-time. People thought I was crazy—I had a mortgage and car payment at the time, but no real plan—but I felt I had to do it. I was depressed, lethargic, and generally unfulfilled...I had to get outta there. I don’t regret it for a minute! I made some awesome memories, learned a lot about myself, and started down this exciting path to great health.

I attended the Institute of Integrative Nutrition, where I earned my Holistic Health Coach certification. I chose IIN because they taught a vast multitude of dietary theories and encouraged their students to find their way of bringing optimal health to the world. One of my classmates ended up specializing in Orgasmic Meditation. Hey...whatever you can do to help spread joy, right?

I’m really serious about biking. It all started when a former coworker gave me a bike she was going to throw away. Since then, I’ve ridden thousands of miles, participating in several 50-mile and 100-mile charity rides.

I’m an only child and a major introvert. But oddly enough, I love being around people—in moderation. I actually think being an only child is what trained me to connect with total strangers, because, let’s face it...as an only child, you better know how to make friends, or else you’ll be playing alone.

I read, on average, one book each week. I’ve always been a big reader, and my ability to read more books has only increased with the advent of ebooks. I mix it up between fiction and nonfiction, but I’m always sure to read at least one health-related book a month to keep on top of my field. If you have any book recommendations, please let me know!

Ok, enough about me. Honesty time again. This time, raise your hand if you:

  • Are ready to make healthy changes that last you a lifetime, not just a few weeks or months.
  • Are willing to put in work to get the results you want 
  • Recognize that the best time to make changes to improve your life is NOW.

I’m not going to lie to you—breaking old, destructive habits and replacing them with new ones is challenging, and not always fun. Luckily, I’ve done all the trial and error, made the mistakes and had the setbacks, all so you don’t have to. I’m here to be your teacher, accountability coach, and cheerleader as you develop the habits that are going to get you results for life.
